One of the coolest parts of being editor of CardMaker magazine is having the opportunity to review the newest products on the card-making market. From fabulous card stock to beautiful collections of patterned papers and embellishments to the very latest in tools, I love having the opportunity to review them all.
A while back, we reviewed a PictureMate from Epson, and I was recently reminded of just how great these compact photo printers are. My mother-in-law was creating a family tree that would include individual photo frames (think ATC size) of each family member. There were several of us who didn't have a recent photo, so we snapped a couple of quick pictures, pulled out the PictureMate and printed photos in just a matter of minutes. Pieces of ribbon were attached to each frame to act as a hanger, and the pieces were suspended from actual tree branches. The result was awesome and has been quite a conversation piece. A similar project could be a nice thank-you gift for a teacher. Each student could create a thank-you card with his or her picture included, and all of the cards could be assembled as a tree or a bouquet. I'm sure that several of my girls' teachers would love to receive a bouquet like this. (Yes, I need one more thing to do!)
